That’s the grand total of all the prizes up for grabs! CRAZY right!!!

Go over to Blue Cricket Design and see the awesome giveaway she is having.

Here are just a few of the prizes:

I have been holding onto a gift certificate from Kirklands since Christmas and a couple of weeks ago I was able to go shopping with it!!!  I made my first trip ever to Kirklands and it was FANTASTIC.

This store had wonderful beautiful items for your home.  I had a hard time picking out just want I wanted to buy because I loved it all.  The prices were reasonable and more than half the store was marked down.  (I just love getting a good deal.)

Here are a few pictures of some thing I did purchase.

If you haven't check out Kirkland, you need to.  Stop by and see what they have to offer!
Buyer beware...you will find something you HAVE to take home with you.

Another Chalkboard

We all love chalkboard paint!
I made a HUGE new chalkboard for my den.

I had kept my eye out for a really big picture or painting that I could turn into a chalkboard and I found one at a yard sale for only $2.00.  I thought the details of the frame were perfect.

I had forgot take a "before" picture.  The frame was a gold leaf and I had already started spray painting the painting before I went to grab my camera.  Here is what I started with.

( I don't know why blogger keeps rotating the picture.  Ugh )

This is what I ended up with.

I  am in LOVE with how it turned out.  This is also my first time using a glaze and I think it all works together nicely.  Please ignore the notty pine...I have plans to change that.  Just give me some time.

Creativity

Have you been told since you were little that you were creative?  Did you grow up with creativity being encouraged?  I believe we all are creative and that sometimes we just have to believe in our ideas.  No matter what creative talent you have, it might be writing, photography, DIY, painting, gardening, crafts, what ever it might be...keep at it and the more you use your talent I believe the more it will grow.

Photos courtsey of me.  :)

Vacation is Near!

I have spent a lot of my time at a place like this lately.

The paperwork has been never ending lately as well.

I also have been busy watching this guy play t-ball....

...and this little girl play softball.

I have been busy running this one where she needs to go.

We had some fun over the 4th of July weekend...

and now very soon....my family will slow down enough to get to go on vaction to a place like this.

That makes me smile.

Have you missed me because I have missed you.  I have missed being a creative. I have been really busy with work and life.  I will be back posting regularly when it slows down a bit.  I have so many things that I would like to accomplish in my home and I will share each step with you.

Today as I was looking around blog land,
I stumbled across Pink and Polka Dot blog by Kristi.

She has some beautiful things on her blog.  Go over there and check her out.

My New Living Room Board

Now that I have settled into my new house I am really wanting to make it look like me.  I have been on the lookout for things that inspire me.  So I have put together a few things that I would like to re-create in my living room.  : )

I found this photo in blog land and cannot locate who it belongs go.
However, don't you love the look of it!
I do and it makes me want to paint my table this weekend.

Here is a picture of my table.  It is similar to the table above and I think it would look fantastice painted out!  This table is now in my front living room and we use it like a game table.  So, if I mess it up...no biggie.

I made this over at Wordle
You can make one too.

Wanting to Update my new house

Does this picture make you think of 1970?  This is how my house looks today.  With a little bit of help, I hope update the look of it.  I plan on taking out the evergreen's in front of the house, putting up new post under the front porch and painting the shutters.
What do you think?

Worn out and a bit overwhelmed

I am finally in my new house and I would say that I am about 95% unpacked.  My house was move in ready.  The bathrooms had been remodeled and the rooms had been painted out white.  Now, I just need to add my own touches to each room.  So here is my wish-to-do list:

  1. Paint the knotty pine in my den.  I'm not sure what color though.
  2. Change the door handles out.
  3. Change the knobs on my kitchen cabinets and if I don't like that change, then paint the cabinets black.
  4. Get rid of the ugly evergreens that line the front of my house.

That is my list for now.  I could add more but these are the ones at the top of my list.  When to do this....that is the challenge.  Time isn't something I have a lot of these days.   I'll keep you posted on any progress I make.

Royal Wedding

I have not been blogging lately but trust me, it is NOT because I'm doing nothing.  :)  I am still settling into my new home, I would say 90% of the boxes are unpacked and now I need rest a bit before I start making over my house room by room.

I have not been that caught up in watching the Royal Wedding these past few weeks but today I have tried to see the highlights.  I do love Kate Middleton's dress.  It is just perfect.
This is Princess Grace Kelley on her Wedding Day.
Her dress also has the lacy long sleeves.

Happy Friday to All!
