Wanted to Share

Today I have been looking around blog land and I have found two sites that I have looked at from front to back.

First you need to go check out

Then you need to go check out

I really enjoyed the simplicity of these sites.  I find comfort at places like these.  I hope you do to.

Have a cup of coffee and enjoy your day.

Wish List from ESTY

From time to time I look around ESTY and see what kinds of great things are out there.  I really enjoy vintage items and all the handmade things on this site.  So here are a few of my picks.

I like the very simple lines and vintage look to it all.

I might be one of the few bloggers out there that doesn't have one of these bad boys yet but I still hope to one day.  I really like the color of this fan.  This one could be mine for only $38.00.

I like this one for two reasons:
1.  It is a Van Halen Record.
2. What a cool looking bowl.

I am one who still has a home phone....so to have something pretty hanging on my wall would be so nice.  I really like the simple look of the old vintage black phones.

Seeing these one ESTY just made me smile.  My Grandma has sold AVON for over 50 years now.  She has this brush and mirror to go with it in her bathroom.  As a little girl, when I stayed at her house, I used her brush just like this one to comb my hair.  Those fond memories make me smile.

Happy Monday to you!

Make-up Magnet Board

I saw this idea in blog land and thought....THAT IS SO SMART!
I found it over at Laura Thoughts

She starts with a basket of make-up.
(Most of us have our make-up in a basket, drawer, or bag too)

She found an old picture at the Salvation Army.

She made a few changes to the  picture & frame wouldn't you say?
After painting the frame, she picked up some metal from the hardware store and fit it inside the frame. To make it pretty, she used spray adhesive to attach some fabric to the metal.

Added some magnets to the back of her makeup.

She also added containers to store her brushes.

Now, don't you wish you had thought of this too!  It is very clever and cute.
For all the details, go check out her blog.
I'm sure Laura will love that you stopped by.

Confessions

I must admit that my house is not what I would want it to be.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my house. Mainly, the square footage is what I love…it has plenty of room for my family to spread out in. My kids can run around like crazy sit and play games without disturbing anyone. My oldest daughter has her own apartment suite upstairs. (Okay, it’s not really a suite but we do kid her about how much room she has upstairs.) I can actually say we have rooms in our house we don’t use that much.

With all that being said, there are only about 2 maybe 3 rooms in my house that I love. This year, 2011, I plan on making a few more rooms something special.

I love looking at blogs and seeing what other people are doing with their homes. You guys are my inspiration.

A Little Encouragement

Most women struggle with loosing weight.
I never had to until this last year or two.
Chalk it up to getting older, body changes, medication...who knows.
All I know is, my jeans don't fit anymore.
I found this great website that is an encouragement to me.
Let's face it, we all need a little encouraging from time to time.
Maybe it will help you too.

Happy Tuesday to all.

New Blog Design at The Painted Studio

I have re-designed my blog thanks to Mandi at Mandipidy!!!

Go to her blog and click on the DIY Blog Makeover tab...

I created a header, a blog button, and did a little resizing to my blog with the help of her tutorials.

I have a few things in mind to "tweek" still but for now they will have to wait.  I do have other things I have to get done today. :)
What do you think?
Any suggestions?

Be Thankful

All the GREAT blogs out there have been very inspiring lately!
Over at Tatertots & Jello Jen made this very pretty sign out of an old cabinet door.  So...I made one for myself.

Tatertots & Jello

Here is my version.  I don't have circuit to cut out vinyl letters, nor did I have an old cabinet door.  But I did have full sheet clear labels and an old picture frame.  So I dry brushed my frame black and I printed out my Be Thankful sign on my clear label.  I stuck the label right to the glass and added some fabric behind it.  Now I have my very own Be Thankful sign as well.

**Sorry if the pics I blurry...I didn't notice that till I had put the disc in my computer.**

Which Project will I do first?

Life has been busy...that happens with everyone I know.
I have not cratfted in a couple of weeks.
Tonight I plan on starting something, anything.

Here are a few thing that I want to get done.

All the blogs out there inspire me.
I hope I am able to inspire some of you.

I picked up two lamps for free a while back.
They need some love and care.
Hopefully after I'm done, they will be as pretty as this one.

Isn't this idea just perfect for Halloween!
I would love, love to make this for my little girl.
http://craftedition.blogspot.com/

Yesterday at the consignment shop I found a funky 70's tie that I thought was perfect for something like this.  I also found a t-shirt to match.  My son loves ties.  How cute will he be in his own applicated tie t-shirt?

What is Your Style?

Over at Thrifty Decor Chick today Sarah is talking about what kind of style her home is.  (I say that as if I know her personally and that we talk all the time about decorating but in truth, I'm just a follower of her cool blog.)

As I was looking at Ethan Allen today, they have a style quiz.  So I took it and according to them, I am HayLoft.  They describe that as being energetic. Fashion-driven. Practical. Materials borrowed from industry, architecture, and nature. Clean shapes. Punches of color. Spontaneous and fresh. Kids and pets? Bring them on.

Ummm.. Okay, if they say so.  I think it sound good and so I went on to look at some pictures of things they say I might like. I love, loved them.  I posted some of the pics below.  I think they hit the nail on the head.  I do love these photos and would just die if my home looked like this.  I would be in home decor heaven.

Happy Friday All!
